Death Cafes:

It's your typical cafe, complete with pastries, people chatting and sipping delicious drinks, and a neat ambiance. The twist is that the chinaware and foods are decorated with skulls and the common conversational theme is of death and dying. Death Cafes have sprung up in many cities across the country, and have even popped up in several international locations.

The main purpose of Death Cafes is to bring people together to talk about death openly, in a relatively ordinary environment. People gather in the selected cafes on the first Monday of every month to talk about death, ease any concerns, and gain a new understanding on the matter. Visiting Death Cafes is a way to think about death in a non-discouraging way, but instead in a way that encourages people to "make the most of the (finite) lives".
